Kristen Kenst

Kristen joined the Berkley Healthcare Medical Professional team in October 2020 as Vice President of Underwriting.  She has spent her entire career in healthcare, where she has managed teams up to ten people, and is a well-respected partner in the insurance industry with over 15 years of expertise in this space.  Kristen began her career as an attorney for a provider-owned health insurance plan before moving over to the healthcare delivery side where she managed the risk services department for a regional hospital system in Southwest Ohio.  Kristen began underwriting medical professional liability at OneBeacon Professional Insurance when she joined the Complex Risks Division with an emphasis on hospitals, healthcare organizations and physician groups.  She continued underwriting hospital professional liability at Allied World Insurance Company before joining the startup team at QBE Healthcare, where she expanded her focus to include underwriting medical facilities.

Since joining Berkley Healthcare, Kristen has sought out opportunities to engage and connect with her colleagues and has led the Special Events and Activities Leaders (SEALs) team for the last two years.  She completed the W.R. Berkley Corporation Executive Management Program in June 2023.

Kristen has authored several thought leadership pieces and has presented at many industry forums, including the IMAC Cayman Captive Forum, PLUS Medical, the ASHRM national conference, and the Florida RIMS conference.  She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and both her JD and MBA in Healthcare Management from the University of Akron.
